Professor Helen Ball, BSc, MA, PhD is Professor of Anthropology and Director of the Parent-Infant Sleep Lab at Durham University. She has been studying infant feeding and infant sleep since 1995, working with organisations at home and abroad, on ways to facilitate bedding-in for breastfeeding support in hospitals. Her current research involves behavioural and physiological investigations of infant and child sleep- and the effect on child obesity. Professor Ball runs the ‘Parent-Infant Sleep Lab’ at Queen’s Campus, Stockton and also conducts research in various local hospitals and the community.
