ITT computer facilities
In the Institute between the North & South Campuses there are 28 Computer Laboratories, which have the following computer facilities:
- Unix/Linux Laboratories (NC)
- Apple Mac Pro Laboratories (NC)
- Pentium Laboratories (SC / NC)
- Multimedia Laboratories (NC)
- CAD Laboratories (SC)
- Computer Based Training Laboratories (SC / NC)
- Language Laboratories (SC / NC)
- Networking & Software Development Laboratories (NC)
All labs run the latest software versions, are fully networked and all are connected to the Internet.
Other facilities include:

- Video Conferencing Facilities (NC / SC)
- Technology Enhanced Classrooms (NC / SC)
- IP Telephony (NC)
The Internet at ITT
IT Tralee is connected to HeaNet, Ireland’s National Education and Research Network, via a 1Gb ATM (gigabit) connection with another resilient 1Gb connection which enables true broadband connectivity. This is the first broadband research and development network of its kind in the country. All students in ITT have access to the Internet to aid their studies. Projects for the service include permanent E-Mail for life for registered student, Video Conferencing for debating, meetings and guest lectures from other IT's as well as delivery of some MIS applications over the network.
Computer Services Helpdesk
The Computer Services Department is responsible for the maintenance of the Institute's 1200+ computers and laptops in addition to printers, projections systems, network, communication systems, desktop and network applications etc. A Helpdesk is located close to the student labs to provide assistance when required. ITT Local Area Network
The Institute has invested significantly in recent years to ensure that its local area network remains at the leading edge of technology. This ensures that all students have a secure account on ITT's network, with server storage and an Institute email address. The ITT network is based on a structured cabling infrastructure with a Gigabit Ethernet backbone and is partitioned into student and staff VLANs. Currently our Backbone on the state-of-the-art North Campus is running at 720GB.
