What is Bar Supervision
Bar Supervision is a two year higher certificate programme aimed at developing the skills and knowledge of the students. This will enable them to pursue a rewarding career in the licensed trade and hotel sectors. The emphasis of the course is on the following core areas:
- Beverage knowledge and service skills
- Cocktail knowledge and service
- An introduction to bar supervision.

What are my career opportunities
Graduates will be qualified to work as bar tenders and food service personnel in a range of hotels, bars, restaurants, private clubs and off licences both in Ireland and Internationally. Students of this programme will be equipped to progress to supervisory positions within the industry.
Progression Level 7
Graduates of the programme are eligible to progress onto year 3 of BA in Hotel and Resort Management.
Progression Level 8
Graduates of this programme are eligible to progress onto year 4 of the Degree programme in Bar Management or Hotel and Resort Management on successful
completion of Level 7 of same.
