Course DescriptionThe aim of this innovative new programme is to provide learners, who already have significant operational experience in the hospitality sector or who are transferring from studies in other disciplines as career changers, with the professional supervisory and operational management skills in restaurant and bar operations in order to provide a structured support for their promotion, progression and career development in the Irish Hospitality and tourism industry. The programme will provide the participant with the benefits of personal attention, instant feedback, hands-on experience and the opportunity to compliment college based learning with a structured practical internship and a trained mentor in industry.
Applicants must hold an FET/QQI award at NFQ level 6 or equivalent. The Institute’s policy in relation to non-standard applicants also applies. Applicants may also be required to attend for interview.
This programme will be delivered online part-time from January 2019 to December 2019.
Fees do not apply to applicants who meet the criteria under the Springboard+ Initiative. For employed applicants, the HEA will pay 90% of the programme fee, the remaining 10% will be collected before registration. Fee paying applicants €6,500.
Having successfully completed this programme, candidates can apply for progression to year two of the Bachelor of Arts in Hotel Management (TMDP) with relevant exemptions.
