Course Description

This programme offers those currently employed in the Hotel Industry the opportunity to pursue a degree in Hotel Management while simultaneously working with their sponsoring employer. Each year of the programme will comprise of the delivery of 60 credits of study through a blended learning approach.

Entry Requirements

Applicants should be employed in a sponsoring hotel for at least 3 months before course commencement. Applicants under 23 years of age must have passed five subjects in the Leaving Certificate including Maths and English. Mature applicants, i.e. applicants over 23 year of age by 31st December 2017, are not required to have a Leaving Certificate. Students are required to have a laptop for all on-line delivery.


Commencing in January 2018 this programme will require candidates to spend two blocks of four weeks per annum at IT Tralee’s state-of-the-art facilities in the Hotel, Culinary Arts and Tourism Department. During this period six modules will be delivered. The remaining modules will be delivered on-line and through work based learning.

* Candidates who hold a level 7 degree are eligible to apply for entry to the one-year add-on Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Hotel Management.


€3,000 per annum (please note fees quoted for academic year 16/17 only and subject to annual review).
