Course Description

The IT Tralee now offers a one year add-on level 8 honours degree as part of the Trainee Manager Development Programme. Candidates should be currently employed in the Hotel Industry in a management role. This programme is ideally suited for candidates who are now progressing into more senior roles in their organisation.

The TMDP programme at IT Tralee is the only programme of its kind in Ireland. It allows the candidates to continue working while completing their degree.

Entry Requirements

Applicants should be employed in a sponsoring hotel for at least 3 months before course commencement. Applicants holding an Ordinary Degree in Hotel Management (previously awarded at National Diploma level) or equivalent with a minimum of 50% will be considered for entry. Places are awarded on an order-of-merit basis and preference may be given to holders of a directly relevant qualification from IT Tralee.

Duration

The programme will be delivered through a blended learning approach. The candidate is required to spend 4 weeks each semester in IT Tralee state-of-the-art facilities in the Hotel, Culinary Arts and Tourism Building (4 weeks in February and 4 weeks in November) to complete 3 modules. The remaining modules will be delivered on-line and through work based learning.

Progression Opportunities

Successful candidates are eligible to progress on to relevant Masters programmes.
