Broaden your horizons and your mind! Thanks to the EU's Erasmus and Leonardo programmes ITT has forged strong links with several other third-level Institutes throughout the EU. This means that during your studies at IT Tralee, you have the opportunity to get to know visiting students from Belgium, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Poland, Spain, Sweden, UK and soon from the new EU member states. And better still, you can build on your language skills by availing of Erasmus and Leonardo funding to study and work abroad in your target-language country. Our International Office staff will gladly help you with your plans.
Here is what some IT Tralee students had to say about their experiences of work or study abroad:
"My time working with Siemens in Germany proved to be an exciting and challenging experience that has benefited me throughout my final year and will no doubt benefit me in the future." - Yvonne O Leary, Computing and Enterprise, year four.
"When one spends a year abroad, one will invariably learn the language and the culture of the country, but for me the most important part of the year abroad is the lifelong friends I met." - Aileen McCarthy, BBS, year four.
"The year I spent in France was without a doubt the best year of my life. I enjoyed every minute of it. I made great friends there who I will always go back to visit." - Helena Bourke, BBS year four.
"My stay in Germany didn't just improve my German language, it opened my mind, broadened my horizons, and gave me confidence that I never imagined I could have." - Siobhan Cronin, BBS Accounting, year four
"With great support and help from the placement co-ordinator, the Leonardo programme is a fantastic opportunity to experience the diverse and fascinating nature of a foreign culture. Spending three months in Belgium has given me knowledge and confidence in my ability to speak French. A truly unforgettable experience!" - David Boome, Advanced Certificate in Business Studies, stage two.
