Health & Safety
IT, Tralee is committed to providing a healthy and safe environment for students and staff in accordance with the Health & Safety at Work Act 1989. In order to maintain health and safety standards, students are obliged to comply with certain rules, regulations and procedures as contained in the Student Handbook or as notified from time to time. In general, students should espouse self-discipline and behaviour appropriate to a campus community of 3,500 students and 275 staff.
In the event of an accident on Institute premises, students should immediately notify a staff member and the Institute Nurse.
In addition, you must complete an Accident/Incident Report Form available from the School Secretary and return it within one week of the accident. Students are provided with personal accident insurance, which covers accidents while in the Institute. A number of staff are trained in First Aid. First Aid Kits are available throughout the Institute, including the Health Centre and the Students' Union Office.
