Each year outstanding academic achievement by students is recognised by the Institute. IT Tralee presents each student with a framed Institute citation to acknowledge and record the outstanding achievement.

Throughout the year, you will have the opportunity to compete in Institute and inter-college Academic and Cultural Competitions related to your course. IT, Tralee students have established a proud record of Sporting achievement over may years.

Academic Achievements during 2004/2005 include:

• Niall O Lionaird, Bachelor of Engineering in Civil Engineering HETAC Prize - ITT Student of the Year Award.
• Babu Shamsuddoha, National Certificate in Professional Cookery (Apprenticeship Programme) FÁILTE Ireland Student of the Year Prize 2005.
• Lisa Power, National Certificate in Tourism Skills - FÁILTE Ireland Student of the Year Prize 2005. 
• Tara Heffernan, PC 200 - The Irish Hotel Federation (Kerry Branch) Scholarship. 
• Orla McAndrew - Kerry Irish Hotel Federation Scholarship.
• Katie Louise Sheehy - Kerry Irish Hotel Federation Graduate of the Year.
