Holistic approach to conditioning the Inter-County Hurler 

(Blending Fitness, Nutrition, Lifestyle, Strength & Conditioning)

 

Presented by Joe O Connor

Joe O Connor

Joe is a lecturer in the health and leisure department.  He is a graduate of the Health and Leisure course and has also completed a MSc in Exercise & Nutrition Science.  

While currently head of fitness, nutrition, strength & conditioning with All Ireland winning Clare Senior Hurlers he has been a fitness advisor to a number of other teams across a range of both individual and team sports. Joe is a strong advocate of a holistic approach to player/athlete development.

Pilates practical

Presented by Jackie Ruttledge

Jackie Ruttledge

Jackie is a lecturer in the health and leisure department.  She is a graduate of the Health and Leisure course and has also completed a MA in Health Promotion in UCC.  Jackie is a qualified STOTT PILATES Instructor.

The pilates session is suitable for everyone and will focus on improving musculoskeletal performance through core strengthening and endurance exercises using the principles of pilates.
