IT, Tralee Management Give Thumbs Up To Students Radio Ad
When multimedia students at the Institute of Technology, Tralee were challenged with creating, designing and producing a radio ad to promote the college none of them expected it would end up running on Spin South West and Radio Kerry.
Students of the BA (Hons) in Interactive Multimedia were given a project to produce an ad at the Institutesâ¿¿ high-tech Digital Media Centre - a digital production and post-production facility consisting of a TV studio and Radio Studio with full recording facilities and multimedia editing suite. The result was so good the college decided to use the ad and it is currently running on Spin South West and Radio Kerry.
According to Kay Fitzgerald, Head of the Department of Business Informatics, putting faith in the ability of its students has paid off for IT, Tralee, â¿¿It is a very slick and professional production. Todayâ¿¿s advertising marketplace is crowded and competitive and this radio ad could certainly hold its own. I am very impressed with the undergraduates who produced it.â¿
Preparing students for the commercial environment is integral to education at IT, Tralee. Through the provision of state-of-the-art facilities and by giving students the opportunity to gain practical hands-on experience, the college is helping to achieve this.
