‘Amazing Atoms’ win ITT Challenge

To mark the 30th Anniversary of the Institute of Technology, Tralee a secondary schools problem solving secondary schools problem solving competition competition entitled â¿¿ITT Challengeâ¿¿ was held on Wednesday, 23rd April in the Institute of Technology, Tralee.  

A team of three pupils from Hazelwood College Dromcollogher, Co Limerick were announced as the winners of the â¿¿ITT Challengeâ¿¿. The winning team called â¿¿Amazing Atomsâ¿¿ included Michael Byrnes, Maire Flanagan and Anita Lucey.  They battled it out against teams of three from Kerry, Cork and Limerick to win the title.  

The â¿¿ITT Challengeâ¿¿ offered pupils from 1st and 2nd year the opportunity to shine in a challenging evening of fun. Students were given a unique opportunity to test their problem solving skills in a range of areas and a chance to win some really great prizes.  

The â¿¿ITT Challengeâ¿¿ proved a huge hit with teachers, pupils and parents alike with the Challenge striking the right balance of education and fun for all involved.

The event was kindly sponsored by Dell, Ladden Construction Ltd and Oâ¿¿Mahonyâ¿¿s Booksellers. The winning team were presented with ⿬50 book tokens and a Dell laptop and printer for their school. All participants were presented with pens and hats on the evening.
