Teaching Awards Presented by ITT President

Two lecturers at the Institute of Technology , Tralee are recipients of a year long competition to find excellent Fiona Tobin and Feargus Dunne University level teachers in the Shannon region.

Fiona Tobin and Feargus Dunne were presented with their award by Michael Carmody, President, IT, Tralee as a reward for their outstanding contribution to teaching and learning at the Institute. They are the first two lecturers at Institute to be recognised in this way as part of a new initiative that rewards outstanding teaching in third level institutions in the region.

Lecturers in four third level institutions in the Shannon region took part in a competition which seeks to reward lecturers who are doing well in their jobs. Each lecturer had to present evidence to support their bid for teaching excellence which was then judged by a panel of teaching experts which included University teachers from abroad.

The Institute plans to present the awards annually to teaching staff in recognition of their distinctive contributions to teaching.
