December Workshops at the Killarney Regional Learning Centre (KRLC).

Killarney Regional Learning Centre Located in Park Court, Beech Road, the Killarney Regional Learning Centre (KRLC) is a higher education access, support and educational guidance centre, established by the Shannon Consortium partners - the Institute of Technology, Tralee, the University of Limerick, Limerick Institute of Technology and Mary Immaculate College. The Institute of Technology, Tralee is the lead partner for the Killarney Centre. The centre is funded under the HEA administered Strategic Innovation Fund. The KRLC will run a series of seminars on Returning to Education and Entrepreneurship, in addition to delivering a number of part-time programmes validated by the consortium partner institutes. The KRLC also offers an independent educational guidance service to adults interested in returning to third level education.

All workshops will commence at 7.30pm and are offered free of charge. Pre-registration required by contacting the centre.


WORKSHOPS

Entrepreneurship Workshop â¿¿ Using strategy to help resolve business problems, December 8 th .

The December workshop, using strategy to help resolve business problems, will be delivered by Gerry Gallagher, author of â¿¿Corporate Strategy for Irish Companiesâ¿¿.

In these turbulent times Gerry will give an overview of skills required to lead companies, examining the wide range of strategic options from which business owners can choose and also provides a framework for decision-making. He will also look at how strategic plans are implemented and how companies can deal with change.  

Gerry Gallagher lectures in corporate strategy in the Institute of Technology, Tralee at undergraduate level and on the Master of Business and MBA programme. Gerry also lectures in corporate strategy in the Institute of Chartered Accountants. He is a regular guest contributor on the Sunday Business Show on Today FM and is currently a mentor with the Endeavour entrepreneur programme.

The series of entrepreneurship workshops aim to provide participants with some of the core entrepreneurship skills to develop business ideas. 

Return to Education Workshop â¿¿ The Mature Student Interview, December 15 th .

Are you considering applying for a place on a higher education programme? Are you concerned about whether you have the correct academic or personal skill set to cope with studying at third level? The KRLC Return to Education series will introduce you to some of skills which are required to cope effectively at third level. The December workshop will focus on mature student interview skills. Interviews can be nerve-wrecking experiences. Learn how best to prepare yourself for an interview for a place on a higher education programme. Eliminate negative feelings and accentuate the positive!
