Neven Maguire visits IT Tralee and Shares "His Secert to Success"

Neven Maguire visits IT Tralee Neven Maguire this week visited IT Tralee, his visit was part of the annual Pork experience training day hosted by Bord Bia. Neven is Chef Patron of the world acclaimed MacNean Bistro in Black Loin, County Cavan and is the Star Chef of the current television series the "Home Chef" cooked up a variety of dishes with Pork being the main ingredient in each dish, one of which was Smoked Belly of Irish Pork with Queen Scallops a Carrot and Coriander Puree and Date Jam. Students were also Present from CIT and LIT. Neven was very impressed with the facilities available at IT Tralee and the level of interest shown by the participating students, said T.J O Connor.

Neven told students in an inspirational speech of his love of cooking and of the Hotel & Tourism Industry. "I have enjoyed every minute and cannot imagine any other life except that of being a Chef" said Neven.  T.J O Connor Hotel Catering and Tourism Department IT Tralee said Chefs and Industry practitioners of such caliber as Neven Maguire are excellent and welcome additions to enhance the programmes on offer at IT Tralee.

IT Tralee has introduced 5 new programmes to the HCT Department this year they were previously the Advanced Certificates in Professional Cookery and Tourism Hospitality just to mention two they have now been changed to Higher Certificates in Culinary Arts and Hospitality Studies. Both Neven and T.J agreed that this is a welcome change for Hotel, Catering and Tourism Education.
