Course Opportunity Available at IT, Tralee for Redundant Apprentices and Craft P The Institute of Technology, Tralee is pleased to announce details of the Certificate in Craft Transferable Skills Programme which will commence at the Institute on Monday April 18th. 

The programme, which is part of a national initiative funded under the Labour Marketing Activation Fund, aims to meet the education and progression needs of redundant apprentices who have successfully completed Phase 6 of their apprenticeship and who are unable to access employment to complete phase 7. 

Those who successfully complete the programme will be conferred with a HETAC Special Purpose Award at Level 6 on the National Framework of Qualifications.  Participants who have completed all phases up to phase 7, can also include this programme in their portfolio of evidence to be considered by the FÁS Redundant Apprentices Accreditation Committee as satisfying part of the time and training requirements for the Award of the Advanced Certificate â¿¿ Craft. 

While studying at the ITT, FÁS will pay a training allowance to those on the programme where a participant is in receipt of Social Welfare Allowances (Jobseekers Allowance or Jobseekers Benefit) prior to the commencement of the programme in line with the existing FÁS Training Allowance Policy. 

As part of the programme, students will complete modules in the areas of Computer Applications, Business, Applied Science and Technology, Mathematics and will also complete a relevant Project.

Those who successfully complete this programme may also enter year 2 of relevant Higher Certificate Programmes (Level 6) at the ITT and in some particular cases may gain entry to Year 2 of a particular Ordinary Degree Programmes (Level 7).
