DIASPORA - Igniting Kerry's Economic Future

Diaspora On Friday, September 16th 2011, DIASPORA – Igniting Kerry’s Economic Future, a forum to explore Kerry’s Economic Development took place at the Sólás Building, IT Tralee. The event was hosted by Jimmy Deenihan TD, Minister for Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht. Speakers included: Adrian Mulvihill, FEXCO Business Services who discussed The Certificate of Irish Heritage and it’s potential in developing a Kerry Diaspora Network and Monique Meche, Cisco System, who gave a presentation on the multinational perspective of operating a business in Kerry and how organisations can benefit from the Kerry International network. John Dennehy, International Development Ireland, outlined the opportunities in international education services and their applicability to the Kerry region while Jerry Kennelly, Tweak.com presented details of initiatives in Kerry which aim to foster and development an entrepreneurial ethos. The event was chaired by the Minister and included an open forum for questions and answers. The event is part of a number of initiatives both nationally and internationally which aims to leverage the opportunities presented by our Diaspora in supporting our economic progress.
