ITT Welcomes World's Leading Games Developer

Students from the Institute of Technology, Tralee began their academic year last by being welcomed by television star Graham Norton, this year the Creative Media and Computing Students will begin this new academic year by being welcomed by the World's Leading Games Developer Ms Brenda Romero. Ms Romero has been awarded a Fulbright Fellowship to travel from the United States to work with Ireland’s game industry. Mary Lucey from the ITT stated that the Institute is delighted to welcome such a high-calibre name from the gaming world. "She will spend the first week of classes at the Institute where she will provide a mixture of seminar sessions for students, lecturers and industry. She will also undertake workshops and also give a lecture from one of her Games Development Conferences."
This is a wonderful opportunity for all to engage with a top-class world renowned game designer and developer. Ms Romero is best known for her work on the Wizardy series role-playing video games and more recently, the non-digital series, The Mechanic is the Message. She has worked in games development since 1981 and has credits on 22 games titles of as open sessions will also be organised for guests to attend. The Department of Computing and Creative Media will also invite secondary school students who are interested in pursuing a career in the design and development of games to meet Ms Romero who will be visiting us on the following dates 15th, 16th and 17th of September.
