Launch of the 2015 Live Life National Film Competition

The Creative Media Department of the Institute of Technology, Tralee in conjunction with Dairymaster to promote the Live Life Donal Walsh Foundation has launched its 2015 Live Life National Film Competition.  This is the second year of this national film competition which generated huge interest last year and actively promoted the feel good factor in life! Entries were received from all over the country last year and it is anticipated that the entries for this year's competition will increase dramatically.

The Competition looks for film entries - not longer than two minutes - with the title "live life".  The competition is open to all ages - primary, secondary and third level and also has an open category for film enthuasists of all kinds!

The competition closes on January 31st,  2015 and all films need to be uploaded to youtube and the link emailed to livelife2015@ittralee.ie with contact details.

Prizes, all sponsored by Dairymaster, will be presented at the annual Live Life Love Concert in February 2015.  The Concert will feature well-known tv and sports personalities and short-listed films will also be screened.

Head of Department of Creative Media, Information Technology and Computing Brigid Crowley stated that the Institute is delighted to be part of this national growing competition and is looking forward to viewing all the students' entries for the competition especially those from the Institute's Honours Degree in TV, Film and New Media Broadcasting Students!! Dairymaster who sponsored the event last year are again this year delighted to have such an involvement in promoting "living life to the full" as one of the Company's aims is to provide a better and more enjoyable life for the farming community through the use of technology. Elma Walsh, Donal's Mother has been astounded by the support received to date and the Live Life Foundation has donated impressive funds to Cancer and Charitable Foundations nationally since Donal's sad passing in May 2013. Mary Lucey who is organising the Competition is looking forward to the Live Life Love Concert in February and advised people that February 11th is a date that needs to be kept free in the diary!
