On Tuesday November 18th last, IT Tralee BA Travel and Adventure Tourism Management students presented ‘Irish to Meet You’, a unique evening of Irish culture at Fels Point Hotel in Tralee.
The evening opened with Cór Dhuibhne, an Irish choir from West Kerry, filling the hotel foyer with Irish harmonies as European Erasmus and medical commencement students from the Middle East and students from Russian, Malaysia, Brazil, Ireland and many more nationalities enjoyed the welcome with a glass of traditional Irish punch.
During the event, students flocked to the floor, stepping it out to the Broom Dance and swinging to the Siege of Ennis under the guidance of two enthusiastic students, Katie Guiney and Josephine McGillicuddy.
Lively performers from West and North Kerry, Tralee and Co. Clare showcased Irish music, song and step dancing, entertaining our international guests with true Irish essence- Oíche bríomhar, fíor ghaelach.
The unique evening was organised by 3rd year students as part of their ‘Event Operations Management’ module at I.T. Tralee, and the profits of €1,000 have been donated to Doctors without Borders (Médecins Sans Frontières) who are fighting the Ebola Crisis on the ground in West Africa.
Míle buíochas to our main sponsors, Fels Point Hotel Tralee and Tralee Printing and to all the other generous sponsors who supported the night.
