The Conferring ceremonies involve a great many people and lots of organisation. Therefore, we would greatly appreciate your co-operation in ensuring that they run smoothly. We hope you find this information helpful in making your Graduation Day an enjoyable and memorable occasion for you and for your guests.
Conferring Session - Thursday, 2nd November and Friday 3rd November 2017
ORDER OF CONFERRING TO BE CONFIRMED
The venue for the Graduation is the Brandon Conference Centre. It is wheelchair accessible. If you or one of your guests requires assistance to access the venue, we will be delighted to help. Please let us know in advance what assistance is required.
Please read point 3 in relation to attendance. Your invitation permits you to bring up to two guests to the Conferring ceremony. Seating in the Conferring Hall is limited for health and safety reasons. The invitation is part of the letter that you will receive in your Graduation Pack in the post. Entry will be by invitation only. It will not be possible to gain admission without an Invitation Card. Please make sure your guests are aware of this to avoid difficulties on the day. The ceremony is not suitable for children under the age of 12 years old.
If you are unable to attend your graduation ceremony, you will have your award conferred in absentia, and your parchment will be sent to you by registered post to the address we hold for you on our student database in due course.
There are no additional tickets available right now. Additional tickets may become available closer to the date of graduation - please check back for updates.
Graduates must wear the academic dress appropriate to the Awards being conferred on them. Rental of gowns etc. for the Conferring has been arranged through Phelan Conan Ltd. More details will be available from Monday 18th September regarding the booking process and prices etc
Graduates are advised to dress smartly in business suit/formal dress. Academic Dress/Gowns can be quite warm so bear this in mind when choosing your outfit. Please note that unfortunately there are no cloak room facilities for graduands and any bags, handbags or coats, etc should be left with your guests. Hair clips and safety pins might prove useful on the day.

The following car parks are located near the Brandon Conference Centre but are not the responsibility/property of the Institute of Technology Tralee or the Brandon Hotel. Parking can be sought at:
Westwood Court carpark (next to Abbeycourt carpark)
Please allow adequate time to secure parking ahead of the commencement of each graduation session.
The Institute accepts no responsibility for loss or damage to any vehicle or contents however caused while parked in any of the aforementioned areas or any other surface lot or any on-street permit parking area.
Note: Due to the large number of people attending the Conferring Ceremonies, we ask graduates and guests to co-operate with staff, security and Gardai. In particular, motorists should ensure that they do not obstruct entrances to private property and businesses in the vicinity of the Brandon Conference Centre.
Following the ceremony, light refreshments will be served to graduates and their guests in the Scotia Room of the Brandon Hotel.
Designated official photographers will be available on the day of the Conferring and they will be based in the Brandon Conference Centre. Only these official photographers will be permitted to use the facilities. Individual/family photographs may be taken on the day or by arrangement with the official photographers. A number of gowns, etc. will be retained by the designated photographers for a short period after the official Conferring for those having photographs taken in their studios.
