IT Tralee Societies
Societies are organised and run by students with the help of the Societies Officer and Students Union. They provide opportunities to develop personal skills which are all-important in an increasingly competitive employment market.

BICS National Society Awards 2009:
The BICS National Society Awards is an annual event where students from Universities and Institutes of Technology compete for awards. The nominees are split between two categories - Large College and Small College. The nominees then have to send in an extensive application form and portfolio that are analysed before a panel of judges; the nominees also have to present their society to the panel for final judging. It is a gruelling process in order to decipher the winners.
This years BICS National Society Awards were held in Athlone's Hodson Bay Hotel. Representing the IT Tralee were the Young Agricultural Engineers Society in Best Society and Best Society Event, and M.A.G Society in Best New Society. Unfortunately the IT Tralee did not come away with any awards however all of the Society Members that were there representing the IT Tralee did a fantastic job and hopefully next year we will be even more successful.
