Games Development is a very rewarding course. The first year of the course gives you the basics in 3D games programming which is really useful for second year. It truly
is an enjoyable course.

Mathew Savage
BSc in Computing with Games Development, Year 3

The course has a comprehensive range of subjects that cover almost every aspect you might want to utilise in your career. I found the graphics and 3D modelling side of things were the most enjoyable. The staff were easy to talk to, approachable and very helpful should you have a problem. I especially found the Student Union a valuable resource in my years at ITT. They were very helpful with any queries or problems that may arise.

Donal Breheny,
Year 3 BSc in Computing with Games Development.

The course is really interesting and multi faceted. We learn about the design and graphics side of computing as well as what goes on behind the computer screen. I really enjoy it as it allows me to be creative as well as learn about the technical side of computing. It is challenging, but if you put in the work then you will see results.

Martina Molyneaux, Year 4, BSc (Hons) in Computing
with Multimedia

I chose this course because I wanted to do something with computers and the creative subjects appealed to me. I like the 2D animation and the digital video production. It is a challenging course that teaches a broad range of computing subjects from databases to programming and networking. I've met people from a wide range of countries doing this course and the creative subjects give you a break from the coding aspect of things.

Conor Nagle, Year 3 BSc in Computing with Multimedia

I am currently an Assistant Manager with Deloitte in the Enterprise Risk Services department. I specialise in the provision of information security consultancy services to our clients, providing services such as information security program development, security assessments, ethical hacking, penetration testing, vulnerability assessments, application security reviews and secure architecture design. My experience of ITT was very positive, with many great lecturers, excellent facilities, well structured courses, good links with industry and the opportunity of valuable real world work experience which was of great benefit to my career. ITT provided me with an excellent grounding in Information Technology that has been of great help in my career to date. ITT had cutting edge facilities, the people were great, it was well resourced and the social life was always fun!

Damien Moran, Graduated 2003 with a BSc in Computing with Software Development. Assistant Manager with Deloitte.

This course is diverse, and some modules are more difficult than others but I get a buzz out of it. It’s definitely a challenge, but it can be very rewarding. I’m having a great time here, meeting so many people, there’s a real support network within the college. There’s a great range of facilities here in IT Tralee, including the library, the societies, the computer labs and everyone is helpful and supportive. As a mature student, it was quite a decision to re-enter mainstream education, but with the support and resources that are here in the IT, it was definitely one of my better choices.

John Warren, Year 3 BSc in Information Technology Support.

I have always had an interest in nature and science. This course gave me a great opportunity to combine these. The course itself is extremely interesting and the lecturers are friendly and helpful. I honestly couldn't say enough about the lecturers and facilities at the college. It is a fantastic course that offers a wide variety of career opportunities.

Alice McDonald, Year 3, BSc (Hons) in Wildlife Biology

I'm a mature student and the location of the college is very convenient to me. I decided to study Pharmaceutical Analysis as ultimately I want to get in to cancer research or drugs research and the forensics element of the course seemed very appealing. I have particularly enjoyed Chemistry and Biology as I hadn’t studied these subjects before. It wasn’t difficult to get to grips with this element of the course and I find once you keep on top of your studies it is very manageable. I’m looking forward to next year and the challenges it will bring.

Alan Egan Year 1 BSc (Hons) in Pharmaceutical Analysis with Forensics

I have been studying Pharmaceutical Analysis with Forensics for the past year. It has been a very fulfilling experience from the start. The lecturers are very helpful and supportive. They are approachable and they encourage and give good advice if you listen. Among other subjects, we study law and physics – the diversity is great. Everything that is on the course is relevant to investigative forensic science. There is a lot of moral support here and I have found this experience positive rewarding and fulfilling. There are clubs and societies for every interest. The facilities are excellent, the surroundings are stunning and there is a sports and leisure centre adjacent to the south campus.

Yvonne King Year 1 BSc in Pharmaceutical Analysis with Forensics

I chose this course because I've always been interested in the outdoors and wildlife and there didn't seem to be any other course like it. I really enjoyed the zoology and botany subjects and the field trips were a great opportunity to see our wildlife in its natural environment. Tralee is a very welcoming town, I've made lots of new friends during my time here and I'd recommend IT, Tralee to anyone thinking of going to college.

Katie Dundon, Year 2 Higher Certificate in Science in
Biological and Environmental Studies.

Overall my time in I.T. Tralee was the best it could have been both academically and socially. The student/lecturer ratio in the I.T. meant that you learnt from the best, in a comfortable, encouraging atmosphere. The course gave me a broad range of practical skills across a variety of sectors that have, without a doubt, been the greatest asset to me in gaining employment and furthering my career opportunities.

James Barry, Graduated 2009 with a BSc in Health and
Leisure Studies. Schools Mental Health Co-Ordinator,
Jigsaw, Kerry

The combination of theory and practice, maintained my interest throughout. I also enjoyed being afforded the opportunity to ask questions openly in the classroom and the supports available to students while on placement namely the cpc’s and nursing staff on the wards. I feel privileged to be experiencing the course, as I have been involved in the lives of people at their most vulnerable point, during illness, sadness and happiness. Personally I believe no other course can prepare you for both personal and professional growth like this one.

Caroline Murphy, Year 4 BSc (Hons) in General Nursing

I know that it sounds a but of a cliché but I enjoy helping people and feel that with this qualification I can make a little bit of difference. I really enjoyed the mix of the group. I was a bit nervous about being a ‘mature’ on the course but there was no need. I really enjoyed the placements and particularly enjoyed the placement that I was able to undertake in the UK. One of the abiding features of IT Tralee is the great support from the academic staff and the great student support services for those who need them.
