International Projects

  • On-line language learning and intercultural modules

    Since 2003 has been involved in European Commission funded projects in the area of languages  and Intercultural Communication:
    Co-ordinator/promoter for Erasmus+ and Leonardo da Vinci (LdV) Transfer of Innovation EU Commission funded projects. Allocated project funding in 2016 was about €900k under the Erasmus+ programme and coordination of the Vocal project and Vocal-Medical with an overall budget of almost €780,000 for 25 partners. Various LdV projects with an overall funding of over €200,000 for ITT, one Lingua 2, one LdV partnership and one Grundtvig project. Role of Coordinator or Quality Manager in most EU projects. These projects also include giving presentations where I represent the ITT at national/international conferences.     For almost 10 years I have been the Leonardo placement officer for incoming and outgoing students at ITT. This included placements and supervision during the summer month. Successful submission of Leonardo mobility application to Léargas, the National Agency in Ireland (Summer 2005). Total funding was over € 24.000.

Promotion of Languages

Throughout my employment at the ITT I have taken a keen interest in the promotion of languages, starting from organizing and chairing language meetings in order to design a Language Policy at ITT through participating in as many conferences, seminars or workshops on language matters at a national & international level. I have been founder and co-founder of two Language Associations in Ireland.
