Who are we?

Elizabeth Brunton and Joan Cleary welcome you to the teaching and learning unit website. Eliz and Joan are both lecturing as well as being involved in the work of the teaching and learning unit and are therefore not always available at the end of a phoneline.  We endeavour to return calls and reply to e-mails a.s.a.p.  Our e-mail address is edu@ittralee.ie.  Eliz Brunton can be reached at extension 4103 and Joan Cleary at 4107.

Why are we here?

The Teaching and Learning Unit has been set up

  • to lead, enhance, support and influence academic practice
  • to inform and innovate in teaching & learning methodologies
  • to research in-house
  • to write and collate articles for the on-line journal
  • to create and encourage discussion around relevant topics
  • to disseminate information from discussions through the journal
  • to develop formative evaluation instruments through which staff can self-assess and come to TLU for support and assistance if necessary
  • buy in expertise when necessary and desirable

We will endeavour to achieve the following objectives during the academic year 06/07
