Loan Rules

Library users are responsible for all items borrowed in their name until they are returned to the library.

Fines will be added to a student account if items are not returned by the date specified. Fines for Main Collection items are 50c per item per day up to a maximum of €30 per item.  If the item is not returned the user's library and computer account will be suspended until the item is returned and the fines are paid.

Fines for Short Loan items are 50c per item per hour. If a Short Loan item is overdue for more than 3 days, the user's library and computer account will be suspended until the item is returned and the fines are paid.

Students with fines on their account in excess of €5 will be unable to borrow items until the overdue items are returned and fines are reduced to below €5. All items must be returned and all fines due must be settled prior to the end of the academic year or Academic transcripts may be withheld.

If an item has been lost or damaged, the replacement cost of the item must be paid by the borrower.
