This module aims to:
Teach students appropriate methodologies which enhance learning in early childhood
Provide students with opportunities to prepare developmentally appropriate activities for young children
Prepare and enable students to situate the ECCE environment within a changing cultural and social context and to respond appropriately

2	Select and employ a variety of observation methods suitable for the ECCE setting
3	Plan an ECCE environment that supports children's emerging skills, particularly mathematical and literacy skills.

5	Practise the four language skills of speaking, listening, reading and writing in a developmentally appropriate fashion.
6	Identify the importance of the various stages of language development.
