Module Description/Aims:

  This module aims to guide students to stand back from daily practice in lifelong learning and critically reflect on their personal values and professional practice in a wider context. They will have opportunities to draw on this knowledge and understanding and develop their skills as practitioners in their own field with direct reference to their own practice.

Learning Strategies
Teaching will consist of a mixture of lectures, practical class exercises, scenarios, group discussions, guest speakers and the use of multi-media. Considerable emphasis will be placed on student participation in class, with the aim of promoting ethical reflection and practice on the many important issues that surround professional practice. The lectures will be part of a blended approach which will take the following forms:<br>? Lectures delivered remotely by staff and by experts in other Institutes<br>? Lectures delivered in class and/or remotely by staff and/or practitioners in the relevant fields.<br>
Practical and applied workshops will take place in the Institute. They may also be caputured remotely, recorded and shared with peers and lecturer either online or in the classroom.

Assessment Strategies
Individual Presentation.Each student will present and defend their own personal professional development plan creatively to their peers,an expert pane land lecturer.
Individual Assessment:Each student will apply the theory and supporting evidence to their personal professional development plan in a written document.
A group will prepare and present a lobbying article for circulation in the appropriate media channel for a particular purpose. Each member of the group will be required to submit an individual reflection based on their role and involvement in the process identifying the key learnings for the individual in this group activity.
Repeat Assessment will require the student to resubmit the relevant documents and attend a viva voce to defend same.
