Module Description/Aims:

  TECHNOLOGY/ART/SOCIETY (DISPLACEMENT, FRACTURE, AND SIMULACRA)
This module is designed to develop the analytical skills and conceptal abilities of students. This will be achieved by examining, discussing, critiquing and applying a range of philosophical theories - from, for example, Marxism to Feminism to Postmodernism - to over-arching concepts such as knowledge, power, autonomy, Art and technoculture, and to the student's chosen area of research. The module takes the form of a seminar series to foster continuous critical dialogue amongst students.

N.B. Seminar topics will vary, depending on the proposed theses' topics of students

Seminar Paper: 20-25 minutes' duration on a specific area. Student will link this to their own thesis/project. (LO 1-5)
Section in multidisciplinary document to be submitted at the end of semester I (LO 1-5)
Repeat Assessment Procedures:
1. Re-submit seminar paper on specified topic.
2. Re-submit section of final document.
