5Deliver first aid care to a casualty in an outdoor environment

Learning Strategies
Learners will experience a number of Adventure Activities in an Outdoor and Experiential Learning context
Learners will be facilitated in review and reflection upon their outdoor learning experiences.
Learners will attend lectures on the theory of Outdoor Learning, leadership skills and working in an outdoor environment
Learners will attend a training course in First Aid for Outdoor Environments

Best Practice for safety and leadership in the Outdoors Industry standards, EU directives, N.G.B. guidelines, Irish and European frameworks for Outdoor Animators and general applications of current Health and Safety regulation in Ireland and personal protective equipment. The development of leadership skills and identification of leadership styles for working in an outdoor environment. Students will explore their roles as Peer Tutors in Surf and Adventure Games settings
