Educational PsychologyIntroduction to the field of educational psychology; the concepts of learning and thinking; the behavioural model and the nature of reinforcement; cognitive approaches and the social constructivist approach; how key psychological processes and concepts impact on the field of learning; the nature of intelligence; multiple intelligences; how effective teaching is enhanced through a knowledge of the theoretical underpinnings of attention, motivation, memory and information processing; adult-child relationships and factors that foster positive relationships; management of the learning environment; behaviour management; individual differences and behaviour, assessment of behavioural difficulties; cultural diversity and gender issues; assessing individual difference in the areas of intelligence and learning; the socio-cultural context of learning.
