Child, Family and CommunityAn examination of the functions of early childhood care and education from the perspective of the child, the family and the community; an exploration of the role, skills, qualities of the early years educator relative to the child, family and community; introduction to sociological terms and concepts necessary for considering the relationship between families, early education settings and the communities; an exploration of strategies for developing culturally-relevant teaching and learning in the early years; identification of the societal influences that reflect family formation today; an examination of the role of the early years educator relative to contemporary policy and legislation including child protection and inclusive education; an appraisal of the role of multi-agency working to promoting child and family well-being and examination of the concept of `partnership with families• in education
