Module Description/Aims:

  The learner will undertake a work based learning module in the hospitality sector. The work based learning enables the learner to apply develop and integrate skills sets within each relevant department. Te learner will develop an awareness of the relevant working department within the hotel and will apply theoretical and practical knowledge gained in their studies.

Assessment Strategies
All learning outcomes will be assessed on an ongoing basis by means of electronic task skills sheets, work-based learning reflective journals, written reports, presentations and performance appraisals.
Learner must complete 75% of all tasks listed in each relevant department (Pass/Fail) and must complete a performance appraisal for a relevant department. Learners must complete all four components of the WBL Module to pass the module.
Tutor will visit each establishment once a year to verify the training record and to plan the WBL structure for the next year.
