Overview

Award Title: Depends on a specialism

  • Bachelor of Science in Computing with Games Development
  • Bachelor of Science in Computing with Software Development
  • Bachelor of Science in Computing with Cloud Development

Computing professionals are in high demand and short supply. This computing degree in MTU, Kerry Campus, prepares graduates to be problem solvers and innovative thinkers. It is the most flexible of our computing programmes. During the first year, students will study common modules, as they progress into second year, they will be offered a choice of specialisms:

Choose between:

  • Games Development
  • Software Development
  • Cloud Development

As this programme has a common first year for all students, they will be given the opportunity to experience each of the specialist areas before making their choice. The programme is designed to develop technical skills in the core areas of computing, and the chosen specialism area, while also developing the skills necessary for a successful career.

The computing and information technology sector continues to be a driving force in the Irish economy and the demand for graduates outstrips supply. This programme produces graduates with the skills that are highly sought after by local, national and international employers. It has been designed using input from industry, graduates and students. This programme covers a comprehensive range of core computing areas and, together with your chosen specialism, ensures that you have a solid foundation for a successful career. The heavy focus on programming and on workplace preparedness gives graduates a keen edge in a competitive environment.
