Computing professionals are in high demand and short supply. The Computing courses in IT Tralee prepare graduates to be problem solvers and innovative thinkers.
This is the most flexible of our Computing courses, allowing students to choose their specialisation, at the end of year 1. You will be given the opportunity to experience each of the three specialist areas before making your choice. These specialist areas are Software Development and Games Development. The courses are designed to develop your technical skills in the core areas of computing and your specialism while also developing the skills necessary for a successful career.
Work placement is an integral part of the course and a full semester, or equivalent is spent on work placement in third year, ensuring a smooth transition to the workplace when you graduate.
The first three years are common to both courses. Fourth year, which is undertaken by the students on the honours degree course, allows students to continue their studies at a more advanced level. Students undertake a capstone project using the knowledge gained through the four years of studies.
