Venue & Accessibility

The celebrations will take place in the Kerry Sports Academy, Munster Technological University, North Campus, Dromtacker, Tralee, Co. Kerry, V92 HD4V.

The Kerry Sports Academy is wheelchair accessible. If you or one of your guests requires assistance to access the venue, we will be delighted to help. Please let us know in advance what assistance is required.

To request accommodations relating to access or disability for a graduate or guest(s) please complete this form before 5pm on Thursday 20 October 2022. Don't forget to submit the form! We will endeavour to put in place any supports required.

Parking

There are several car parks available near the KSA Building and throughout the entire Campus.    

Please allow adequate time to secure parking ahead of the commencement of each graduation session. 

MTU Kerry accepts no responsibility for loss or damage to any vehicle or contents however caused while parked in any of the carpark areas or any other surface lot area. 

Note: Due to the large number of people attending the Conferring Ceremonies, we ask graduates and guests to co-operate with staff, security and Gardai.  In particular, motorists should ensure that they do not obstruct entrances to private property and businesses in the vicinity of the MTU Kerry North Campus. 

Graduate Robing

Graduate robes/gowns can be booked online from Phelan Conan Ltd before Monday 24 October 2022. The prepaid hire fee (book and pay online) is €35.00 and the pay-on-the-day hire fee is €40.00. It is strongly recommended to book online: Phelan Conan Ltd.

• Graduate Robes can be collected in Room W167, Kerry Sports Academy Building, MTU Kerry North Campus, Dromtacker as follows:
• Thursday October 27th between 4pm – 8pm for all graduates graduating Friday 28th October, 2022.
• Friday October 28th between 8am – 9.30am for those graduating at 10.30am session.
• Friday October 28th between 11am – 1pm for those graduating at 2pm session.

Graduate Assembly - Session 1

• You must collect your gown in Room W167, KSA Building.
• Graduate Assembly/Class of 2022 takes place in the KSA Hall 2 at 9.45am. You are asked to form a line with your class-group in alphabetical order as shown in the booklet.
• Graduates arriving after 10am will not be permitted to participate in the Ceremony.
• If you are unable to attend your graduation, your award will be conferred in-absentia and your parchment will be mailed to you in November.

 Graduate Assembly - Session 2

• You must collect your gown in Room W167, KSA Building.
• Graduate Assembly/Class of 2022 takes place in the KSA Hall 2 at 1.15pm. You are asked to form a line with your class-group in alphabetical order as shown in the booklet.
• Graduates arriving after 1.30pm will not be permitted to participate in the Ceremony.
• If you are unable to attend your graduation, your award will be conferred in-absentia and your parchment will be mailed to you in November.

Guest Tickets

As a Graduand, your invitation to the conferring permits you to bring up to two guests to the ceremony.  You must collect these tickets at the collection desk, located in Room W163 when collecting your academic gown.  You must produce your Student ID (or another form of identification e.g., NDLS, Passport). Your tickets will be released to you in person, no one else can collect your tickets on your behalf.

Your guests are expected to be in attendance at least 30 minutes before the ceremony commences. Your guests will be required to present their ticket to gain admission to the Conferring Ceremony. It will not be possible to gain admission WITHOUT a Guest Ticket. PLEASE MAKE SURE YOUR GUESTS ARE AWARE OF THIS TO AVOID DIFFICULTIES ON THE DAY.

Seating in the Conferring Hall is limited for health and safety reasons. Entry will be by invitation only.

The ceremony is not suitable for children under the age of 12 years old.

Additional Tickets

We have a limited number of additional tickets that we can offer.  We offer additional tickets on a 'first come, first served' basis and are subject to availability.  Please note that if a red bar appears on the form while completing, it means that capacity is reached and we are unable to process additional requests for guest tickets.

Please note that the maximum amount of extra tickets that can be requested is 2. Applications can be made one ticket at a time!

NOTE: We do our best to accommodate as many guests as possible, but the ceremony venue does have limited seating. For health and safety reasons, we cannot exceed the venues seating capacity so once available seats are booked, we cannot accommodate requests any more.

Live streaming will be available in the Dúchas Centre (KSA Building) for guests without a ticket. It will also be live streamed on the screens around the college.

Graduate and Family Photography

Designated official photographers (Lafayette Photography) will be available on the day of the Conferring and they will be located on campus, in the BIT Building. Only the official photographers will be permitted to use the facilities. Individual/family photographs may be taken on the day or by arrangement with the official photographers.
