The School of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) at the Institute of Technology, Tralee, in partnership with companies in the region, have developed a scholarship program to encourage a larger number of students to apply for courses via the CAO in the areas of food, agriculture, manufacturing, technology, civil engineering, energy and the built environment. Current leaving certificate students who are interested in pursuing a STEM programme at IT, Tralee are eligible to apply. The scholarship programme is worth €1,000 each year for the duration of the programme.

Students must meet the minimum criteria set out for entry to the relevant course. Students must also attain the neccessary points set out by CAO for entry to the programme for which their scholarhship application applies.
The successful scholarship applicants may avail of the CAO change of mind facility up to July 1st to apply for a STEM programme if they do not previously do so.
