Video Conferencing

The Institute of Technology Tralee has a number of video conferencing units both fixed and mobile that are used within the Institute for both virtual attendance at meetings as well as being used on a number of courses for both distance education and lecture delivery from/to other Institutions.

The systems available within the Institute can use a combination of either mobile IP (Internet Protocol) technology, ISDN or GDI numbering. The Institute also has a Video Conferencing bridge which allows more than the standard 3 remote participants/locations to take part in a Video Conference.

The Video Conferencing equipment used within the Institute comes from two market leaders in their field - Polycom and Tandberg.

Video Conferencing equipment is available to staff of HeaNet clients. Business, other organisations and individuals can also rent this equipment on campus for meetings/events. To book and check availability please contact our development office on 066-7191704

The Institute require that a test VC session is conducted with the remote site(s) at least two working days in advance of the actual event so please bear this in mind if you need to organise a Video Conferencing session.
