The Student Orientation Programme held on the first week of term is designed to assist in the students' successful transition from 2nd level to 3rd level and to promote and encourage students' personal academic success and individual development. The Orientation Programme is the first step in integrating students into the academic and social life of IT Tralee and the local community. The aim of the programme is to familiarise new students with the range of support services and social activities available in ITT so that they can enter the Institute informed and confident about the upcoming years at ITT.
It also introduces the student to the staff involved in the delivery of these services, and covers administrative details with regard to registration and examinations, academic briefing on course content and structure and an opportunity to find out more about the structure, functions and operation of the Students’ Union, the library and Computer and Careers Services.
The Student Orientation Programme is compulsory for all new students to the Institute. If a student for some reason is unable to attend his/her scheduled orientation programme, he/she should contact Student Services without delay for a brief introduction to the staff and the services.
Further information will be available on an on-going basis on the IT Tralee website and WebCT
