Visiting Students - 1 or 2 semester study abroad

Visiting Students (EU/EEA)

IT Tralee welcomes applications from visiting students who would like to spend 1 academic year (Sept-May)  or 1 semester (Sept-Jan or Jan-May) studying with us.

IT Tralee welcomes a large number of EU students through the Lifelong Learning Programme/Erasmus. As there can be greater demand to study here than can be satisfied with the allotted Erasmus place, IT Tralee can offer a limited number of places to EU students outside the Erasmus Programme for visiting students (i.e. non Erasmus fee paying students)

Visiting students can take any selection of appropriate modules that can be accommodated on their timetable up to a maximum of 60 ECTS per academic year.

Please click here for the course catalogue (courses are called modules) that were available this academic year – while some changes can be expected from year to year it expected that the majority of these courses will be available in the next academic year.

Please be aware that IT Tralee does not guarantee that

- specific modules will be available.

- students will be able to accommodate All of their desired modules on a workable timetable.

English Language Requirements

Visiting students are expected to meet the minimum requirements as per Erasmus or other incoming students see here for  IT Tralee minimum English Language Requirements.

Visiting students  do not need to take a third part exam if they can supply verification of a student’s English language level from by a qualified member of staff in their home University, in place of an third part exam such as IELTS, TOEFL etc.

Fees

Visiting students would be eligible to pay the same level of fees as would be paid by domestic (Irish resident) students.

The fees would be as follows

1 Semester (30 ECTS) – 2022.00 euro

1 Full Academic Year (2 semesters – 60 ECTS) – 4044.00 euro

There is no minimum number of ECTS that visiting students are required to take.

A minimum fee of 1620.00 euros must be paid in advance and the balance payable within 2 weeks of final module selection.

How Can I Apply?

Exam & Transcripts

Visiting students would be expected to complete modules and take final exams in the same manner as full time or other students. A transcript of results would be sent to the visiting student and if requested another copy can be sent to the student’s home University.
