Welcome to the Access Office
Valerie Moore is ITT's Access Officer. Her role is to promote access for under-represented groups to third level education in the Institute, particularly amongst:
- Mature Students
- Learning Support Service for Mature Students
- Students with disabilities
- Students with Specific Learning Difficulty - including dyslexia or other recognised learning difference
- Travellers Liasion Officer
- Schools
- Primary - Sport 4 Success Programme
- Secondary - Pathfinders Access Programme
- People experiencing difficulties accessing and participating in third level for personal, social or financial reasons
Students who avail of support from the Access Office are experiencing challenges such as:
- Returning to education after a period of time
- Personal circumstances such as ongoing illness, disability or learning difficulty
- Experiencing severe financial difficulties
- Managing family commitments, responsibilities and study
- Adjusting to a new environment outside their cultural and ethnic experience
