Health Centre

A comprehensive medical service is available to students through the Health Centre. A nursing service is provided five days a week during the academic year. A Doctor attends the Health Centre on a part-time basis.

As part of the registration process, you are required to advice the Registrar's Office and the Health Centre of any medical conditions that may affect your attendance or academic performance. This information will enable the institute to provide appropriate resources to assist you during your time in IT, Tralee.

Where is the Health Centre?

Health Centre facilities are available in both the North Campus in the Student Services Building - Room Q116 or in the South Campus - Room A119 (opposite the Student Canteen).

The opening times are as follows:

Monday --------- 9am-5pm
Tuesday 9am-5pm ---------
Wednesday --------- 9am-5pm
Thursday --------- 9am-5pm
Friday 9am-4pm ---------

Can I see a Doctor?

All appointments to meet with the doctor must be arranged through the Institute Nurse. The doctor is only available during term time. If you are unable to attend your pre-arranged appointment with the doctor, you should contact the nurse as early as possible. The doctors surgery hours are as follows:

Friday 11am-1pm ---------

How much does a visit cost?

The nursing service is available to all registered students (who present a valid IT Tralee student t-card) free of charge. The doctor service is free to students who present a valid medical card per visit. Students who are non-medical card holders are charged a small nominal fee per visit (€10.00)

In addition to general medical services, the centre arranges on-going programmes on preventative medicine, occupational health, health education and healthy lifestyles.
