Online Registration
HOW TO COMPLETE ONLINE REGISTRATION
- Follow the link provided in your online registration email. This will open up Self Service Banner, which is the portal you will use to register. Going forward you will use Self Service Banner to access your exam results and to pay fees.
- Log in using your student number and the six-digit password (your date of birth in the format DDMMYY). Please note that this password relates directly to Self Service Banner. NB. You will be asked to change this password now. Further details with a second password to access your student emails and online learning portal will be issued prior to course commencement.
- At the top of the screen, select Student Main Menu. Next select Online Registration. You will be taken to Programme Selection. Select the Academic Year 2022/2023 and press submit.
- You will be taken to Request for Consent. This is referencing your data and our privacy policy. You must tick to confirm you have read the data privacy policy (which can be found on our website). Then select your preference for receiving text messages from MTU. Click Register.
- You will be taken to the first page of Online Registration, which consists of nine areas of information that you are required to confirm. Start by clicking on Personal Information.

PERSONAL INFORMATION
Please check and amend the information held here. Providing your PPS is a mandatory requirement. Click continue
MAILING ADDRESS.
This is your HOME address and will already be completed for you. Your Eircode is mandatory. If the information is incorrect or your Eircode is missing, you must request a change of address form from the Lifelong Learning Office. Click continue.
TERM ADDRESS.
Please complete only if different from your home address. Click continue.
EMERGENCY CONTACT DETAILS.
Please complete and click continue.
PROGRAMME DETAILS.
Please check and click continue.
MODULE INFORMATION.
This may not be populated prior to the start of the academic year. Your modules will be assigned to your record in due course. Click continue.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION.
Please enter any details regarding your highest qualifications. Click continue.
FEE QUESTIONNAIRE.
Please answer these questions to confirm your fee liability. Click continue. Please select NO to question 1 and question 2 as it is not applicable to your programme.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION.
There may be a short survey in relation to your course of study in this section. If no survey is available here please Click continue.
REGISTRATION CONFIRMATION.
Click Confirm Registration. Now click to agree to the terms and conditions and Confirm Registration.
FEE .
Click agree to the terms and conditions and select Pay Now (see Instructions on "How to pay your fees" for further details.)
HOW TO PAY YOUR FEES
- You will be asked to make payment of fees. The TERM BALANCE will be displayed on this page and will show the total amount you owe. This is based on the information provided to MTU by you, the student. Therefore if you believe the amount to be incorrect, you should contact the Lifelong Learning Office on parttimekerry@mtu.ie
- Click to accept terms and conditions
- Click PAY NOW
- You will be taken to the payment screen. NB: You must enter the international dial code and remove the first zero from your phone number when completing this page, or it is possible your payment will not work. Click continue
- You will be taken to the ONLINE REGISTRATION - INFORMATION screen and you should see a message reading: YOU HAVE NOW COMPLETED ONLINE REGISTRATION
CARDHOLDER DETAILS
Details entered on this page need to be the details registered with the bank for the card being used. Please pay particular attention when entering the phone number. Some students have encountered issues where the Eircode is not registered with the bank as this is a mandatory field, check with your bank.
HOW TO UPLOAD YOUR PHOTO FOR STUDENT CARD
- Before you commence this section please ensure you have a suitable photograph of yourself available electronically. It must be a recent high-quality colour photograph of your head and shoulders. We can only accept photos in jpg or jpeg format. This photo will be used for the duration of your course of study.
- Return to STUDENT MAIN MENU on Self Service Banner. Select UPLOAD PHOTO FOR STUDENT CARD
- Click on the button to upload your photograph and follow the instructions.
- It is possible to make slight adjustments to your photo. When you are happy, you can click to upload.
- This photograph will be used in your student ID card, which will be issued to you when you commence your studies. All students are required to use their card to register their presence on the University campus.
