Bachelor of Science in Nursing (International)

About this Course

The Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Nursing (International) is a one year top up post-registration degree programme for registered nurses from international countries. This bespoke programme has been specifically developed to prepare international nurses previously registered in their home country for a learning experience allowing them to continue their personal and professional development within the Irish education sector. This post-registration BSc in Nursing programme aims to upskill international registered nurses to an NFQ level 8 educational qualification (National Qualifications Authority of Ireland, 2003).

Course Content - Modules

1st Semester

Advancing Academic Scholarship (5 ECT credits)

Evidence Based Practice in Nursing (10 ECT credits)

Leadership, Management and Quality Improvement (10 ECT credits)

Nursing Ethics: Philosophy and Practice in a Global Context (5 ECT credits)

2nd Semester

Health Promotion and Management of Global Chronic Conditions (10 ECT credits)

Digital Health (5 ECT credits)

Clinical Management of a Deteriorating Adult Patient (10 ECT credits)

Enabling Positive Ageing (5 ECT credits)

Admissions Requirements

Candidates with a recognised Diploma In Nursing who have Registered Nurse status and a sufficient level of English to study in Higher Education are welcome to apply.

Candidates must show that they have a sufficient level of English to study in Higher Education. If the candidate can verify that the medium of instruction for their Diploma was English that can be accepted as verifying a sufficient level of English, otherwise the candidate must meet one the following minimums -

IELTS 6.0 (no less than 5.5 in any 1 band)
PTE Academic 50
Occupational English Test (OET ) 250 overall with no less than 200 in any one skill.

Limited partial scholarships are available as follows:

- €950 partial scholarship - €10,250 tuition fee payable.

- For September 2020 commencements free accommodation is included for Citizens of the following Countries/Areas
