Course Description

Integrated Care Online Academy

In preparing Integrated Care leads we are offering the Certificate in Principles of Integrated Care which is a 15 credit, level 9 Special Purpose Award involving a single module delivered online over one 12-week semester. The programme is a collaborative development between Munster Technological University (MTU) and the International Foundation of Integrated Care (IFIC).

The aim of the programme is to critically explore the key pillars of integrated care principles in order to engage with the concept from an individual, community, organisational and international perspective. The programme is designed to be inclusive of a cross sectoral mix of professionals working in public and NGO services that interact with people who have longitudinal and complex care needs. The programme is delivered fully online to facilitate interested learners to engage in this unique and specialist programme which reflects contemporary health and social care policy nationally and internationally.

The programme is structured in a manner that will allow practitioners to engage in continued professional development at their own pace and is flexible around their work schedule. The programme involves a learning bundle that includes a combination of directed study material, recorded lectures and live webinars facilitated by national and international experts in the area of integrated care.

Entry Requirements

  • Registered health or social care professional (documentary evidence of professional registration required)
  • Educational qualification at NFQ Level 8

For Non-EU applicants:

  • Registered health or social care professional status in Ireland or another country (documentary evidence of professional registration required).
  • Educational qualification at NFQ Level 8
  • A sufficient level of English to study in Higher Education.
    • verify that the medium of instruction for their Bachelor was English or meet one the following minimums –
      • IELTS 6.0 (no less than 5.5 in any 1 band)
      • PTE Academic 50
      • Occupational English Test (OET) 250 overall with no less than 200 in any one skill.

Duration

This programme will be delivered 1 evening per week from 4 pm to 7.30 pm on Thursday’s over one semester (12 weeks) online.

Intakes: September and January each year (dependent on minimum applications)

Cost

The fees for the programme will be €1,685 and students will not be charged a €95 capitation fee as the programme will be delivered online.

Progression Opportunities

On successful completion of the programme, graduates will have gained 15 credits at NFQ level 9 that can contribute to the achievement of other academic awards, such as a Postgraduate Diploma or Master of Science programme. Students may use the academic credit gained from this programme towards further postgraduate advancement in Integrated Care.
